Table Talk November 2017

Join us November 3rd at 7pm for Table Talk.

We will be going through Apologetics for the tender-minded.  By tender-minded we mean those who think with their feelings.  We all do that to one degree or another.  Music, art, poetry, literature, movies are things that can move people and change the way they think.  At this Table Talk we will take a look at how those things can be used to dismantle someone's objections to the Christian faith.

Take a look at the following to get some thoughts going about apologetics for the tender-minded.

The Hound of Heaven

The Grand Inquisitor - Part 1 / Part 2Part 3 (an excerpt from The Brothers Karamazov)

The Chronicles of Narnia

Tolkien on Fairy Stories

Motif Index to Folklore

Principalities and Powers

Myth, Allegory, and Gospel: An Interpretation of JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis, GK Chesterton, Chas William

Table Talk October 2017

Join us October 6th at 7pm for Table Talk.

We will be going through the tough minded side of Apologetics (the defense of the Christian faith).  This will include the kind of questions students have to struggle with when a professor challenges their faith.

Bring some food and a friend!

We plan to discuss the problem of suffering and evil.  Watch this video to help spark some thoughts for Friday: Suffering and Evil: The Logical Problem

Check out the Lutheran Science Institute blog and the links below that take you to some videos that are worth watching ahead of our October Table Talk.
